Esposito heading for Roma

      ROME (AFP) - Cagliari winger Mauro Esposito will next season play for the Sardinian club's Serie A rivals Roma, Cagliari president Massimo Cellino said on Monday.

      However, Cagliari are keeping a stake in the 28-year-old Italian international midfielder as part of a co-ownership deal with Roma.

      "Mauro told me he could stay at Cagliari all his life, but couldn't say 'no' to the chance of playing for Roma," Cellino was quoted as saying on the Gazzetta dello Sport's website.

      Esposito has made six appearances for Italy, but he was not a member of last year's triumphant World Cup squad.
